Founded in 2005 by Mr. Prashant Gupta, Sagar Chemicals began operations in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, with a modest warehousing facility. Initially focused on the trading of solvents in small drum quantities, Mr. Gupta quickly established a reputation as a reliable chemical supplier to factories operating on a Just-In-Time (JIT) model, delivering 2–3 drums daily.

As demand grew, the company expanded its product offerings to include imported solvents like Toluene, Iso Propyl Alcohol, Phthalic Anhydride, and others. This diversification enabled the business to offer a wider portfolio at competitive prices.

Expansion followed with new warehousing facilities in Rudrapur and Gwalior, accelerating growth in both volume and variety.

In 2019, Mr. Gupta moved to Kanpur, where he initiated the construction of a state-of-the-art chemical manufacturing facility on the city’s industrial outskirts. Completed in 2021, the facility marked a new chapter as Sagar Chemicals became Sagar Chemicals Private Limited (SCPL). The plant began producing Ethyl Acetate, scaling to a monthly capacity of 1500 MT. By 2025, with full automation and digital systems operational, SCPL added N-Propyl Acetate to its manufacturing portfolio.
